in the spirit of valentines day…here is a sweet story to share :)
as a photographer i can get some pretty interesting requests….it’s what makes my job so exciting!! some of you may remember whitney and adam from their awesome engagement shoot last november. adam had proposed to whitney right before the “pre-engagement” session!! what i didn’t tell you then (because it was a christmas surprise for whitney) is that i was there in a full blown disguise photographing the exact moments of adam’s proposal. i did feel pretty ridiculous “photographing my friend” while wearing oversized sweatpants, sweatshirt, knit hat, scarf and glasses - but hey! it was totally worth it :)
it takes quite a special guy to go through all the lengths adam did! after many phone calls, location ideas, logistics, and last minute switches…the plan worked like clockwork. whitney had no idea the frumpy sweatshirt girl a few yards away was actually photographing her.
adam and whiteny LOVE edy’s ice cream and have regular ice cream dates! so adam had some special spoons engraved and gave them to whitney after their picnic lunch. he then pulled the edy’s out of a cooler and presented her with it to open…the ring lay sparkling on top of the ice cream. here is whitney’s reaction:
that has to be one of the most touching moments i’ve ever witnessed! i then ran off to the car to change into my regular clothes for the session! it felt like i was in a movie!

and of course, some delicious ice cream! the excitement sure will make a girl hungry!
THIS is the best part of my job….a note I received from Whitney a few days ago:
By the way…you, Lance, and Adam (of course) made my dreams come true on December 25, 2007! I loved our engagement pictures but had NO IDEA that you were actually there in the background taking pictures of the proposal until Christmas morning! You and Lance played it off so well, I had no idea! These pictures mean the world to me and I will cherish them forever! Thank you for capturing EVERY emotion of one THE most special days of my life!
